Moving office

This will be my last week in this messy office. I am still clearing my files and packing my barang-barang into boxes. As they are mostly books and reference materials, most will end up at the new office.

I have seen the office rooms at the new place, but am not sure yet which is mine. The rooms are smaller than my present and has a wooden theme all around. The good points are a full height built-in cabinet for all my rubbish and a fireproof safe to secure important stuff.

Bad points? Too woody for my liking as I prefer my present modernist looking office. Thinking of not bringing my table lamp there as I think it will make the room too quaint, so will likely jazz it up with a modern looking table lamp (shopping time, yeah!). Doubt I can hang my paintings there due to the plaster ceiling thus likely won't be able to find niches to hang my hooks (I prefer not to nail/drill the gypsum walls).

This is one of the painting's I have in my office. The other is an A4 size print of Jehan Chan's koipond painting:

Mongolia Steppes by B. Ochirhuyag (watercolour, 1995) Posted by Hello

This painting was a gift to me by Mr Osvaldo Santana, a UN officer when he was stationed at UNDP Mongolia. I have since lost contact with him, I wonder where on earth he is now?

Finally, what was discussed just after Tsunami 2004 is happening to me. This new posting has loads of challenges, both professionally and emotionally, and I pray that I have the strength for it. Hopefully I can deliver the goods to my No.1 and No.2 boss, and not get too stressed up in the process. I have a young family to take care of ;)

Joan of Arc says... "I am not afraid. I was born to do this" and Belacan replies..."Yeah baby! Bring it on! No pain, no gain!"

If office is alot of wood theme.. better get some water around the office.. ;)
Wood represents fire.. so water.. you need to suppress the fire.. heheheh!!! only my two cents worth. ;)

Whee, best of luck and ganbatte in your new environment.

Why on earth do you need a fireproof safe? Disgruntled employees in the past have tried setting fire to your documents?
