Yes, at the ripe old age of mid-30s, Belacan's gotta take out his form six days scientific calculator, get reacquinted with chemistry, learn about environmental protection, the dangers and first aid treatment for certain toxic chemicals, pH readings, understanding schematic diagrams, kinetic calculations, laws and regulations affecting operations, the layout of different plants, quality standards and yada yada yada.
OMIGOSH! I am FUCKED! totally.....
But if I don't learn up, I won't be able to get the necessary respect from the engineers and long service staff here. Damn. I won't even know if they hoodwink me, the "boy" that got parachuted into their cosy set-up.
Sometimes I feel like doing a Luke Skywalker "It's impossible! It's too big!" but the Yoda in me would say, "Ermm? Give up quickly, he is". Sigh... I wished I can download knowledge in an instant ala Matrix, but of course, the first thing I will download is, ahem.... Kamasutra, the Extended Version. ;)
OK, enough nonsensical gripe gripe gripe. Back to my books, manuals and learning from the net I go.
Belacan reads.... Ca(OH)2 + CO2 = CaCO3 + H2O... ok, I can understand that.. duh?

you must learn some more...read my comment in your earlier posting ( the one that you got tag by lucia)
belacan!! we study together-gether. since i am sitting for my a level's chemistry next fri..try posing me with some questions:P
Good luck with the studies..! You can do it .. MrB..!
keep on learning. when one stops learning, one stops growing. *pretend to be wise*
You're auditing a chemical engineering firm?
Anyway.. good luck! I hated A levels chem!
hehehe... all the best to you.
i remembered how much i luv chemistry in school but always getting myself screwed during exam. but biology, excel i am ;)
eh lu accountant too ? CIMA? ACCA ? and now you are in chemicals ??? wah lau eh u sure boh ? why ur life so like mine one geh ? lol!
how come ppl always assume accountants only have to deal with accounts and nothing else?
SALT + WATER = HUMSUP
Yeah, I know both my chemistry and cantonese alright.
Shidah: LOL! but.. but.. i like big big wor ;) ;)
Jayelle: hey, best wishes for your A Level's Chemistry exam. i was just OK for chem, but really excel at Bio. too bad i suck at maths and physics. if not, i can be Dr Buaya! muahahahahar!
Cherry: all the best for your finals too. You go girl!
Twinsmom: well, the numbers tell a story. and if you don't understand operations, you won't know what those numbers mean. for example, why do i need more of this chemical than that for the final process? and what is the international benchmark? then i can somewhat gather whether we are efficient or not.
MrsT: wah tq! can almost her you chanting *kar yau, kar yau*
mango: *speechless*
lucia: ya cikgu. ;)
eileen: not a chemical company, but we use lotsa chemicals.
sunflower: ya ya, i lurve biology too!
wingz: MICPA. wahlaueh, you too? next time we exchange cerita-cerita buaya, ok? muahahahar!
atiza: coz we are humble people. *nyak ak ak*
Viewtru: hehe, i am sure you excel at physics and bio too, looking at your Msia-SG bridge design. ;)
Wah lau.. I cannot imagine being 'called up' to 'read up' the old notes at the age of, say, 30. I mean, by that time my brain would've shut down all means of input leh (academic).
urgh chemistry! now I remembered why I quitted pharmacy! lol
